The Master Model format is unique in its ability to capture a 3D model both in a lean, web-oriented format, and the original, high-polygon, high-texture format created by the design, engineering, or creative department of the enterprise. vSpace Server: Still Image Composer allows ordinary users to leverage this content with remarkable ease: Just open a browser, spin the object into position, adjust the position of the parts, and snap a picture.

Kaon customers have used Still Image Composer and Kaon models to avoid thousands of dollars in custom photo shoots, and saved many hours of documentation-writing time by having just the picture they needed. Now, internally produced 3D models can be used the same way – making a JPEG for the web, a title graphic for the next corporate PowerPoint presentation, or a close-up for the training manual.

The same intuitive interface millions of people have experienced, interacting with Kaon's web product tours, is used in Still Image Composer. Users can choose output format (PNG, JPEG, TIFF), background color or alpha-transparency, and rendering style. Renderings can be photo-realistic, illustration (pen-and-ink style drawings), or a mix of the two styles on a per-object basis. Resolutions up to 12 mega-pixels are supported.

While the user sets up the shot using a lightweight web model, the full resolution Master Model is rendered by Kaon's fast, distributed rendering server. High dynamic range anti-aliasing is used to extract every bit of realism from textures, and to ensure absolutely smooth alpha channels for perfect compositing. Gigabytes of texture and millions of triangles are no problem for Kaon's scalable rendering system.
