Yes. 3D PDF files can be emailed, or distributed in any way you use other PDF files.
Yes. Kaon's software prepares the 3D data and associated scripting so that using Adobe Acrobat 7, you can easily place the 3D model and associated scripting into an existing PDF.
Kaon has a variety of processes that we use to create 3D representations of products. Click here to learn more about Kaon's 3D modeling processes.
The 3D image will appear in the printed version, exactly the way you left it during viewing. For example, open a door, zoom in, and click Print, and the printed version will have exactly that view. And since the resolution of printers is so much better than your computer screen, the image will be amazingly crisp in the printed version.
Kaon includes 3D PDF as an option within all of our solutions. For example, if you are a Kaon 3D Catalog customer, 3D PDF versions of your products are available as an option. If you use Kaon Advisor, 3D PDFs are available as an option for all the products you include. If you are a vSpace Software customer, the tools you use can emit 3D PDFs.
We're working on that now. The 3D animations can currently move the view, move parts, and change object appearance (such as showing different screens on a mobile phone). Soon, we'll be able to pop up text messages over the 3D model, completely reproducing the interactive product tour experience you've come to expect from Kaon. Click Here to see an example of a 3D product tour in Kaon Advisor.
3D PDFs come to life in Version 7 or later of Adobe® Reader®. Earlier versions of Reader will tell the user they need to upgrade. Until the upgrade is done, a static 2D image will appear in place of the 3D experience. About 90% of internet users have some version of Adobe Reader installed (similar to Flash and Java).

Yes, but you need to use Adobe Reader 7 or later to view the PDF files. The built in "Preview" in Mac OS X does not show interactive 3D content yet.

No. Adobe PDF Reader has a basic 3D capability built-in, and the 3D PDF files contain embedded scripts to provide all the added Kaon functionality and visual fidelity.
No. 3D PDFs work just fine when you are disconnected from the internet.
No. Like any Kaon 3D content, you can use the 3D PDF as much as you like, for as long as you need, with no recurring license fees.
No. The 3D experience window can be as large or small as you like, and you can use whatever aspect ratio works in your layout. (It does have to be rectangular, though.)
The 3D PDF will play on just about any computer with Adobe Reader Version 7 or later. On slower machines, the 3D image will update less frequently during animation. On machines with good graphics cards, the visual appearance will be much better, as Adobe Reader uses the 3D graphics hardware to accelerate display of high-quality visuals.
